Year 2020 - what is the future of blogging?

Post by roseline371274 »

Many associate the blog with the period before the dizzying rise of social networks. The blog was then a very popular, inspiring, customizable platform - a platform that we could very easily personalize and thus share our opinions and views with a wide audience. Blogs at that time were abundant with "lifestyle" content, which today has been redirected to "vlogs", that is, to YouTube and, to a certain extent, to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. In this sense, the blog passed the baton. Some marketers will exaggerate and declare that the blog died in 2010. However, this information is very far from the truth. What do the facts say?

There are currently more than 1.5 billion websites online. About 5 million websites are blog pages. Google performs about 100 billion searches per month, and 77% of people who run searches still read blogs. The facts lie - the blog did not die! However, like all quality platforms, the blog has evolved over time. If we tried to write posts the way we did over a decade ago, our blog telegram data site would die a long and boring death. What changes has the blog experienced?

It is a well-known saying that content is the king of digital marketing. Blog posts can be real sources of quality content, and therefore a very effective tool in the hands of an expert marketer. However, today we have to choose carefully what kind of content we will market.

More, more, more, more and… some more content…

The earlier blog tactic was to post as much content as possible in as short a period as possible. Quantity of content was put before quality, in order to fill the then rather empty online space. The situation has changed to a great extent today. Now blogs compete with memes, gifs and videos for the attention of Internet users. That's why today's tactic is to market quality content when possible. This means that we will offer a smaller amount of material, but Google will certainly appreciate the quality of the posts we publish, and will rank them highly when searching for keywords. Finally, the victory of quality over quantity!
