Professor Cornuelle. Can you also tell us about EQUIS? Why did efmd start this accreditation system?

EQUIS has been set up to provide a European system of quality assessment and accreditation. The fundamental objective underlying EFMD's mission is to raise the level of management education in Europe, both individually for schools and faculties and systematically for national management education structures.
It establishes a mechanism for leaders of the management education profession across Europe to agree on what constitutes quality standards in our profession. It facilitates standard setting, benchmarking, mutual learning and the dissemination of good practice across borders.
EQUIS has accredited 4 institutions so far and over 150 management academics and professionals have participated in peer review assessments worldwide. Its impact on institutional development and quality improvement has already been quite remarkable.
EQUIS is designed not to replace national accreditation systems but to accredit institutions that, in addition to having a high reputation in their national environment .
