Quality, satisfaction guaranteeFrom the responsibility of the Training that the students of Bureau Veritas Centro Universitario receive, it has been detected how, over these last years, the demand for training based on quality standards has increased . The Academic and Quality Director of Bureau Veritas Centro Universitario, Ruth Ballesteros , analyses in this post how this new requirement is perceived in all organisations.

Organizations use the concept of quality as a measure of the effectiveness of their processes to obtain a product or service with qualities or characteristics that are constantly increased thanks to continuous improvement. This concept of quality has already been introduced into the DNA of most organizations. The latest ISO Survey 2015 report indicates that up to December 2015, 1,033,936 ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015 certificates had been issued by accredited certifying viber data bodies around the world. This standard is the global reference for the implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in organizations. This figure represents 57% more certificates issued since 2004, which expresses the significant increase in the importance that is being given to quality throughout the world. This same report indicates that Spain is the eighth country in the world in terms of issuing quality certificates with 32,730 certificates issued up to December 31, 2015, just behind the United States, which issued 33,103 ISO 9001 certificates. China is in first place with a total of 292,559. Regarding the specific European situation, Spain is in fourth place behind Italy (132,870), Germany (52,995) and the United Kingdom (40,161). These data show the importance given in Europe to the development of Quality Management Systems, since seven of the top ten world powers in this area are European. This data also indicates the enormous competition that exists on this continent to offer customers the best quality product, which requires a continuous effort to find new ways to improve customer satisfaction.

ISO 9001 Certificates by Sector
Chart 1. Total Number of ISO9001:2008&2015 Certificates by Sector. (Prepared by the authors based on data extracted from the ISO Survey 2015)

If we consider the different sectors involved in the implementation of Quality Management Systems, we find that the sectors with the greatest impact on global volume are the Metal Sector, the Electrical and Optical Equipment Sector and the Construction Sector, among others. As can be seen in Chart 1, the sectors with the greatest involvement in the supply of quality services or products are the most technical and complex sectors, and those that present processes in which quality must go hand in hand with Safety.

Within this group of technical sectors, training plays a relevant role. In the last 10 years, this sector has increased by 32% from 12,607 certificates in 2005 to 16,657 ISO9001:2008&2015 certificates in 2015, as can be seen in Chart 2. This increase in awareness of the need to offer a quality training service has been accompanied by the fact that in 2005, Royal Decree 55/2005 of 21 January was published, establishing the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), which made it clear that training should not only include hours of theoretical classes, but also the student's work, whether hours of study or completion of assignments.
