According to the latest Icarus Analytics Retail Panel , the most prominent retail companies on social media in Spain in the first quarter of 2019 were, in this order, Mercadona, Chollometro and PC Componentes. The remaining Top-10 brands with the greatest visibility and impact on social media were DIA, Druni, NYX Cosmetics, Ikea, Primor, Carrefour and Westwing.
The study, conducted by Epsilon Technologies, analyses more than 65,000 pieces of content from the social media profiles of 207 retail brands, with a total of 483 profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, with the aim of creating a social media ranking and identifying the main successful communication strategies of the brands.
Mercadona leads the ranking thanks to the interactions generated by a spontaneous community of followers who make the products they launch at the point of sale go viral using the brand's hashtags #Mercadona and #Hacendado.
