The SPAR-Tomsk company has implemented the "Expiration Dates" software module from CSI and solved two problems at once: the solution allows blocking the sale of expired products, as well as optimizing the process of providing a discount on goods with an expiring shelf life. The experiment on expiration date control was carried out with the support of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) from February to August 2023.

When scanning a stamp at the belarus whatsapp resource checkout, the module requests the expiration date in the digital marking system "Honest Sign". After checking it against the current date and recording the expiration date, it will prohibit the sale, and the cashier will offer the buyer to replace or remove the product. The solution also transfers data on products with an expiring shelf life to the Set Retail trade automation program, where progressive discounts are automatically generated for sales at the checkout - 10%, 20% and 30%. When scanning a product, the discount is immediately applied to the receipt, increasing customer loyalty.
is acutely relevant for both retailers and customers, as well as for regulatory authorities. In addition to the tools of the Set Retail 10 cash register system, which allow preventing violations when selling marked goods, we have created a new module for checking expiration dates. These technologies help retailers avoid inspections and fines from regulatory authorities of up to 1 million rubles. We are sure that customers will also appreciate the new opportunity and will trust the store that cares about them more," said Andrey Starovoytov, head of the cash register department at CSI.

In 2022 alone, Honest Sign identified 43 million cases of expired dairy products being sold. Rospotrebnadzor is taking action against retail chains that sell them. Several large retail chains received fines in 2023 for millions of rubles, most often for dairy products.

"The developed solution will be relevant for every store, because the Government intends to introduce automatic blocking of expired and illegal products subject to labeling at all checkouts in the country - we are talking about tobacco and dairy products, packaged water and beer. The use of the mechanisms of the "Honest Sign" labeling system for automatic checks completely closes a serious risk to the reputation of trade organizations and gives confidence to buyers that they are protected from buying a low-quality product," said Alexander Smirnov, Director of the Department for Work with Partners of CRPT (the operator of the "Honest Sign" labeling system).

"The solution prevents violations in the trade of marked goods with a limited shelf life and allows us to increase the trust and loyalty of buyers through a system of discounts," commented Nikolai Moldovan, IT Director of Smart City LLC (a service partner of SPAR-Tomsk).
