What do they do? And how are they used correctly?
Everyone probably knows them by now, the short messages that you receive on your mobile phone or on your desktop PC. Unlike emails, these messages are limited to the bare essentials and sometimes have an informative and sometimes a requesting function.

The possible uses are diverse, from information about special offers or discounts, to news services that communicate the latest news, to service messages such as “Your rental car is ready…”.

The response rates in particular are promising. We'll tell you macedonia phone number data how it works and why you should include this channel in your marketing mix.

Requirements and types of push messages
In order to receive push messages, the recipient must have previously given their consent and can withdraw this consent at any time. In principle, there are two types of push messages: web push and app push messages.

Web push messages are generally only displayed when the browser is running. This can also mean that some messages do not arrive because the validity period has already expired. An exception is the Apple operating system macOS. Here, the browser does not have to be started to receive the messages, as they run directly via the operating system. Web push messages do not require a separate application ; it is sufficient if the browser supports the function (all common browsers now do this). Web push messages can also be received on desktop PCs as well as mobile web browsers.

The second type - the app push message - requires, as the name suggests, an app and is therefore limited to mobile devices. However, when it comes to mobile use, a distinction must be made between the Apple operating system IOS and the Google operating system Android. On the iPhone, for example, you must expressly agree to receive push messages. On Android devices such as Samsung, HTC and Huawei, consent is given automatically and can only be revoked later (the so-called opt-out principle). This means you can reach a significantly higher number of Android users.
