The media remains too silent on corona deaths

Post by asimd23 »

A bus overturns on a motorway along Lake Zurich: five people are injured and seven people die. Imagine what kind of headlines, how many online articles, TV and radio reports this would result in. The accident would be on the front page of every Swiss newspaper the next day. That's how it would be in normal times.

At the moment, however, not just "just" seven canada rcs data people are dying every day from the corona pandemic, but around 50 to even over 100 - about as many as if a plane crashed. But have these victims ever been the main topic of a "Tagesschau" or "Echo der Zeit" in recent days? Or the top headline on a newspaper front? No. The major Swiss daily newspapers, for example, have been reporting on vaccinations, intensive care bed occupancy, distance learning and mask fines in recent days. The editorial teams gave weight to the aid for professional sports and wrote headlines about the corona deaths in the USA, pandemic management strategies and the future of hospitals.

Some would argue that those who died from Corona cannot be compared to a traffic accident, because they are mainly very old people. People also die of cancer or heart attacks, but they are never covered in the media.
