Post by monira444 »

It came into force from the date of publication: January 12, 2024.

Budget Guidelines Act (LDO)

The law was sanctioned with 34 vetoes, the main one being the mandatory schedule for executing individual and bench parliamentary amendments, with payment scheduled for June 30.

The law

The LDO's main objective is to guide the preparation of the belize mobile database Annual Budget Law (LOA), seeking to ensure compatibility between policies, in addition to establishing the allocation of resources.

Why is it important?

It is important because it ensures cohesion between the Multi-Year Plan (PPA) - which defines medium-term goals and guidelines - and the Annual Budget. This guarantees continuity in public policies and coherence between the various government planning instruments.

Which stakeholders are involved?

Several stakeholders are involved in the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) process. The Executive Branch is essential in drafting and proposing the LDO, while the Legislative Branch plays the role of approving, reviewing and monitoring the document. In addition, oversight bodies, such as the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU), play an important role in analyzing the LDO's compliance with the law and in ensuring the transparency and legality of the process.

The law

Law 14,822 of 2024 represents the legislative authorization for federal public spending in the year in question, totaling R$5.5 trillion. The LOA reflects the priorities established by the population in the 2024-2027 Multi-Year Plan, incorporating agendas such as environmental, social and gender equality. The budget seeks to meet specific demands, allocating more than R$600 billion to Education, Health and benefits from the Bolsa Família Program.
