Flocktory is a product IT company. Our products help users make purchases conveniently and on more favorable terms, and help our partners personalize marketing, find warm leads, attract new customers and monetize traffic.
Testing hypotheses, studying the market, researching the audience are our constant tasks. This is not only for accounts and developers. The HR team is not lagging behind: the team constantly studies the internal climate in the company and the external market. This time, we found out how candidates choose vacancies and decide whether to continue negotiations. The findings are unexpected.
P.S. All our insights are the result of qualitative research. We conducted in-depth interviews with respondents from five areas: development, product, commercial block, marketing and back office. All respondents are real candidates who went through the hiring process at Flocktory and reached the final stage of negotiations.
Image matters, but conditions are more important
We asked candidates what they pay attention to when instagram data responding to a vacancy. The most important factor was positive and realistic reviews, recommendations from friends and partners - this factor was named by 55% of respondents.
It's not just the reviews themselves that matter, but also how the company responds to them. For example, we always respond to reviews on DreamJob — timely, honest, and friendly responses are a positive thing.
The second place was taken by the work format: hybrid or remote, flexible start of the day, the ability to work outside of Russia. The third place was taken by the company's website - quality and clarity of presentation, presence of active links, modern design

Reviews from partners, employees or acquaintances that inspire confidence.
Work format: flexible start of the working day, possibility to work outside of Russia, possibility to work remotely or in a hybrid format
Website: quality and clarity of information, modern design, functionality of pages.
First message to the candidate: the recruiter's first message contains a description of the vacancy, active links to the website, and other details.
Product: its specifics, complexity, technological advancement and market awareness, customer feedback about the product.
Job description: clarity, understandable requirements, honest description of working conditions.
Working conditions: availability of benefits, corporate equipment.
List of partners: well-known large companies in the list of partners, cases.
Ease of processes, lack of bureaucracy.
Potential: the opportunity to learn something from future colleagues, opportunities for growth and development, a clear system of grades and testing.
Informal corporate culture: no dress code, positive attitude towards tattoos and colored hair, informal communications, no strict hierarchy in communication.
