People at industry events are looking for new connections to make, so you’re creating an easier way to connect with them. You don’t have to wait for people to approach you. Take the initiative and introduce yourself to attendees you find interesting. Explain your area of expertise and how your email list can help them.
As a bonus, offer reciprocity. While it’s important to promote your own email list, show genuine interest in others as well. Ask people you meet if they have any email newsletters or industry publications they recommend subscribing to , and offer to sign you up right away on your phone.
