Methods of preparation of honeycomb ceramics
1. Extrusion method
2. Hot casting method
3. Pouring method
4. Pressing method
Among them, hot pressing, injection molding and pressing methods are difficult to prepare honeycomb ceramics with high pore density, large size and thin wall. In actual production processes, the most algeria number data widely used method for preparing honeycomb ceramics is the extrusion method.
Common Materials for Honeycomb Ceramics
Aluminum ceramics
The oxide ceramics mainly composed of Al2O3-SiO2 and containing a certain amount of mineralizers such as Ba, Ca, Zr, Mg, belongs to the category of aluminum ceramics. The content of Al2O3 ranges from 45% to 99%. According to different main crystal phases, aluminum ceramics can be divided into corundum ceramics (Al2O3>95%), mullite ceramics (Al2O3-50%) and mullite-corundum ceramics (Al2O3-75%). Aluminum ceramics are mainly used in petrochemical industry, metallurgy, desulfurization tower, reaction furnace, packed tower, etc. It serves as a support material and filler for catalysts in reactors. Due to its good mechanical properties, chemical stability and heat resistance, aluminum ceramics are well adapted to high temperature, high pressure and severe corrosion conditions.
