What is a language model

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

Yandex is considering making access to Yandex GPT paid for by third-party developers. Monetization of the most popular chat bot ChatGPT, according to previously announced forecasts, will multiply the revenue of its creator

As Dmitry Masyuk, director of the Yandex search and advertising technology business group, told RBK, the company sees several possible ways to monetize its Yandex GPT language model. This includes improving search to strengthen the advertising business, selling new functionality by subscription, and various services for the b2b segment.

This is a model that is used ecuador whatsapp resource to predict the probability of a sequence of words in a specific text or sentence and is needed to understand and generate content. The most famous language model in the world is ChatGPT, which is a chatbot with artificial intelligence that can conduct a dialogue, write poetry and prose, summarize scientific articles, process images at the request of users, etc. The chat was launched in November last year by the American OpenAI.

Yandex GPT was launched in May of this year. Until now, this language model could be used in Yandex Browser, the 300.ya.ru service, Yandex search, and Yandex Market. It could create and process texts, perform various tasks, etc. On Thursday, September 7, Yandex launched a new version of its model, YandexGPT 2. According to the company, it will be able to solve more different types of problems and will give better answers compared to the previous version; access to it will be available through the Alice voice assistant, Yandex.Stations, and TVs with Alice.

According to the results of the second quarter, the revenue of the parent company for the Yandex group — Yandex NV — amounted to 182.5 billion rubles, of which 46% came from e-commerce, taxi, car sharing, food tech, delivery and a number of others, 39% — from the Search and Portal direction, which earns money through advertising, 15% — from the rest. Although just a few years ago, advertising brought Yandex more than 50% of its revenue. According to Dmitry Masyuk, with the help of YandexGPT, the company plans to:

increase the attractiveness of search for users due to the fact that answers will be given in the form of a thesis retelling, text analysis; it will be possible to formulate more complex queries in the form of a coherent conversation. The growth in the number of search sessions should allow for an increase in advertising revenue;
the possibility of adding new functions to YandexGPT, which will be available to users who have paid for a subscription, is being considered. Yandex does not disclose details, but among the options being considered are the creation of specialized neural networks, for example, legal or medical, which will be able to analyze texts on this topic, the creation of a tool to help developers, etc.;
A fee may be introduced for companies that connect to the YandexGPT API to receive services based on a neural network - creating product descriptions, retelling the main texts, improving their stylistics, increasing the productivity of customer support, etc.
To date, Yandex has received requests to connect to the YandexGPT API from approximately 6,000 companies; access is currently provided free of charge.

Masyuk notes that the language models presented on the market are trained on static data, i.e. not dynamic, not taking into account events that happened, for example, 30 minutes ago. In his opinion, a hybrid of search and linguistic model should become a universal tool. This will allow combining the most relevant information with the technology of searching for the most relevant answers in a user-friendly form.

Masyuk did not specify how much the company could earn by monetizing YandexGPT. He only noted that Yandex is testing solutions based on YandexGPT in three of its own services and estimates the economic effect of their implementation at 1.2 billion rubles over the next year.
